Learning Network West, a unique organisation in the West of Scotland, acts as a significant conduit for Learning and Development in Social Care across the region. We support and enable Higher Education Institutes throughout West of Scotland to provide practice learning opportunities to Degree and Master students studying Social Work. Additionally, we enhance the delivery of the Social Work Mental Health Officers Award in partnership with Higher Education Institutes.

Learning Network West is currently funded by most Local Authorities in the West and five Higher Education Institutes in the West of Scotland. We also receive discreet funding from the Scottish Government for various purposes.

Learning Network West maintains partnership work with a range of stakeholders, including SSSC, Iris, and the Scottish Government. We are a charity company limited by guarantee.

While Learning Network must prioritise its resources within a tight financial framework, our primary focus for growth remains on supporting local learning and development engagement for and with health and social care staff.
